Pristine Living 101: Bee Pollen

Many pellets each day will keep the doctor far, far away.

Origins

It starts with an instinctual desire. As the newly morphed adult bee arises from the wax-covered honey pocket it spent the last 12 days in post-larva, she immediately begins her quest. Flapping her wings 180 times per second, the creature wonders the environment for its target – a specific and particular kind of flower from which it will extract two key substances, nectar and pollen.

The latter of the two is where our focus rests. After mounting the flower, the bee scurries to collect this magical nutritional seed from the stamen, or the male organ of flowers. The primary concern is to take gathered pollen back to the hive in order to support the hive infrastructure, health of the queen bee, infant larva, and fellow worker bees.

For efficiency purposes, the bee uses its hind legs to scrape all collected pollen into the form of pellets that rest inside its pollen basket during transfer. Each pollen granule is made up of 4-10 million pollen grains. Each of these grains, in turn, contains the complete genetic blueprint of the flower it came from, being the male seed. Thus, bee pollen contains lots of life force energy.

In fact, “Bee pollen is the most nutritious food you can eat. It contains every nutrient required to sustain and support life in a pure, raw, unadulterated form” (US Department of Agriculture). This miracle product is considered to contain every chemical substance needed to maintain life, nourish, rejuvenate and heal. And, nobody proves it better than the queen bee who happens to live 40 times longer than the average worker bee.

Nutritional Components

If you consumed approximately 35 grams of bee pollen a day, you would meet the entire daily nutritional needs of the average person.

How!? Simply put, bee pollen is the most complete food found in nature.

Look no further than bee pollen for a complete source of protein. Pollen is 30% – 40% protein and is composed of every single essential amino acid, the building block of protein. Similar to broccoli, Pollen has 7x more protein by weight than meat. Luckily, this comes in a bioavailable and predigested form, making human processing incredible easy.

In addition to hosting simple sugars and complex polysaccharides, pollen contains some remarkable fats, such as omega-6 and other essential fatty acids (necessary for the body but not humanly produced).

Put down the daily multivitamin, and instead take a teaspoon of pollen. Pollen contains literally every existing vitamin in a natural, organic, and bioavailable form. Any variation of vitamins A, B, C, D, and E is consolidated within each pellet. Many pollen enthusiasts are most pleased with the large presence of vitamin B12, a major source of energy.

Bee pollen contains over 5,000 types of live enzymes necessary for digestion and bodily functions. Enzymes over time are depleted as we age and succumb to societal stresses that make our bodies work harder to stay healthy. The intake of bee pollen significantly restores the enzyme bank in your body and thus promotes longevity.

Most notably, bee pollen contains large amounts of DNA and RNA. Foods high in these two substances are crucial, as ample supply provides resources for a healthy human cell.

There is also one mysterious component of pollen that scientists have yet to discover. When pollen is artificially produced in a lab and fed to bees, the bee soon thereafter dies even though every nutritional component is accounted for. Therefore, there is an unidentified force in pollen that has yet to be understood.

Health Benefits

Pollen is a potent longevity food, being rejuvenating and anti-aging by effect.

Bee pollen supports a healthy immune system. Intake stimulates the production of lymphocytes, a type of white blood cell that destroys pathogens. Pollen also increases gamma globulin levels, the protein largely responsible for resisting infection before infection takes hold. If gamma globulin doesn’t prevent an infection, natural antibiotics are found in bee pollen to fend off toxic material. Also, pollen decreases oxidation of red and white blood cells, which allows for an increase in hemoglobin, the vehicle for oxygen transfer in blood.

The enzymes in pollen help ease digestive disorders by replenishing the stomach, large, and small intestines. Research has also shown that daily intake of bee pollen subsides the pain from menstrual cramps in women. For those who are worried about cholesterol, pollen reduces bad LDL-cholesterol from the body.

In a world where radioactive isotopes are being released at an alarming rate into our atmosphere, bee pollen acts as the most natural means to defend against the negative effects of radiation. It is often prescribed along with chemotherapy.

Bee pollen also reduces susceptibility to allergies, acting as a natural immunization. A minute dose of toxin that causes allergies is present in each pellet. The human body therefore is stimulated to produce anti-bodies against this controllable amount over time.

Pollen also helps regulate weight! Being 15% lecithin by volume, pollen helps release stored fat, which is then used as fuel. Pollen intake is also known to increase libido and athletic endurance, as well as to produce a negative effect on the development of cancer cells.

The Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity (ORAC) test is an emerging standard by which science measures antioxidant activity in foods and natural supplements. Bee pollen’s results from the test yielded 229 ORAC units, the highest score ever recorded for any whole food. Thus, Bee Pollen has been shown to be at the top of the list of foods exhibiting antioxidant activity.

Most importantly, bee pollen contains the complete nutrient complex to thrive. The human body is run most efficiently with an ample supply of fats, proteins, minerals, enzymes, vitamins, sugars, antioxidants, and more. The cumulative effect of this complex amassed nutrition is a living, laughing, and loving body and mind.
